Ministers in the team are trained to Diploma level through a course provided by The Archbishops' Council's Ministry Division Committee for Ministry of and among Deaf & Disabled People (CMDDP).

There is also a course taught completely in sign language. This is run by CMDDP and the University of Chester. The first course began in January 2006 and can take up to 12 lay people who use British Sign Language and wish to train for ministry in their local church.
